Today we mourn the loss of one of our dear loved ones! Losing a pet is never easy.
Dee was a great dog in our family and has been loved by our entire family for many years.
Jeremy got Dee as a college graduation present from his sister in 1997! She is a German Shorthair Pointer and has been a loyal dog to him, and then me as well when I came along.
I will never forget the first time I went to Jeremy's house, she stood within a couple of feet of me as I sat on the couch and stared at me the whoel time. I thought she was going to attack me but he assured me that she was a good dog. I didn't realize how good of a dog she really was until I got to live with her for the past 6 years. She quickly ditched her Dad and became my bff. She was so thankful her Dad had a female in his life, other than her Grandma Jan:)
He said that is one of the reasons he married me is because Dee approved. She was awesome when we brought Lucie home, very patient with her as Lucie still had the pup in her. Dee would not leave Adlee's side when we brought her home. If Adlee cried she quickly paced back and forth wondering what was the matter!
Dee was a great hunter in her prime! She is a bird dog and would hunt for hours with Jeremy. She loved her Sunday morning waffles or pancakes.
She also loved getting into a pan of brownies she shouldn't have, a bag of chocolate or a whole container of carrot cake cupcakes with the foil wrapper. None of that made her sick. One day she got in the trash and ate a bag of freezer burnt brocolli which made her sick ALL NIGHT LONG!!!
Jeremy and I were by her side today as she went peacefully to Doggy Heaven. Our lives will forever be changed since we had to put her down today but we know she lived a long great life!!!
We will miss you Deeder Dee!
