It's almost the weekend!

We have a fairly busy weekend planned. Friday after work we are heading to Pekin to see our baby girls. We have missed them so much this week since they have been with their Grandma & Grandpa. My Mother-in-law and I are having a garage sale Saturday. I am hoping the sun decides to come out at some point because right now I can't remember the last time the sun has been out. I am sure we will meet up with some of Jeremy's high school buddies. My Mother-in-law and I hope to make a trip to Peoria to shop a little bit. We are in no hurry to get home as the realtor is having an Open House on Sunday at our house. Speaking of the house, the house did get shown tonight. First showing since being listed with a realtor. It has only been listed a day or so. A Realtor Caravan came through yesterday and there were no negative comments which was very reassuring. The Realtors all really liked the house and thought it shows very well.
Although we have missed our dogs, we have enjoyed not being awaken by floppy ears at 4a.m. The house has remained clean due to the fact that I sucked all the dog hair up in the Dyson Animal this past weekend. But of course, we will be anxious to see them tomorrow. Jeremy plans to golf and fish with his Dad this weekend so all will be happy!
I can't believe tomorrow is May Day already! I love the month of May because it is comfortable temps and usually pretty sunny.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Whew, we are tired!

Jeremy and I have worked our butts off today. We are listing our house with a realtor tomorrow night so we have been cleaning house all day long. I did take about a 2-3 hour break to head to my frien Jen's baby shower, but other than that, I just sat down at 6:15 tonight and have been cleaning since 8 this morning. Our house is very clean right now:)
On a sad note, our doggies are vacationing in Pekin for the time being. They are staying at their Grandma and Grandpa Darnell's house. Jeremy took them over today. We were advised to have them stay someplace else for the first few weeks of our house being on the market. I was very sad when they left. The house is so quiet and lonely without them here! However, I am anxious to see how clean the house stays.
Our weekend has been a busy one. Jeremy's Mom came over and her and I worked a track meet at the Middle School this weekend. My Mom threw a surprise 50th b-day party for her sister, my aunt, last night. It was a great party.

Swan on the Pond!

This morning we woke up to a Swan on the pond in our back yard. We have a lot of geese that like to poop all over the place, but never a Swan. It was very pretty and I had to capture a picture of it.

What's this week bring?

This week I have realized that we have a lot of stuff to do and little time. Wish there were more hours in the day! We have found a realtor that we wish to list our house with. We plan to list it Monday night. In the meantime, I have started packing up pictures and other things. Jeremy and I both have been going through items for a garage sale. Our realtor suggested we find a new home for the doggies for the time being. This is going to be hard on all of us. Our doggies are our pride and joys. We love them soooo much! We are pretty sure they are going to vacation at their Grandma and Grandpa Darnell's house in Pekin for a few weeks. Apparently the busiest time in showing a house is the first 2-3 weeks. So between now and Monday, we are going to clean windows, wash siding, scrub the deck, pack some more stuff up, pick up all the doggie items, and hopefully shampoo carpets. My wonderful mother-in-law Jan is coming over this weekend and her and I are helping out at a track meet at Urbana Middle School Saturday. We also have a b-day party to attend Saturday night and I have a baby shower to attend on Sunday.
As many of our family and friends are aware, I received a promotion at work. I met with my boss today and found out I will move into my new office on May 4th. I will be training next week, learning some ins and outs of the new job. I am really looking forward to this change at work. I will be in the same department, but will be considered a Proposal Coordinator. I will be reviewing grant research proposals that are submitted to our office by faculty members before they go to the agencies.
Have a great week!

It's the Weekend!

Yay! It's the weekend! And the weather today should be beautiful. We enjoyed visiting with our good friends Sean & Tiffany last night. They live in Kalamazoo, MI. and stopped by on their way to St. Louis. We grilled out steaks and sat around and caught up on our lives. We don't get to see them too often but always seem to have a great time when we do. Their black lab Gunner is Dee & Lucie's boyfriend. They looooove to play together! We are excited for them as they are expecting their first baby in September. Soooo, since Tiff is an Iowa Hawkeye fan and Sean is an Illini fan, we thought it would be appropriate to get their baby it's first Illini gear!
We found out the couple that was interested in our house is not going to be moving anytime soon, so our house is still for sale. We still have it listed by owner but will be meeting with a realtor and hope to get it put on the market soon. We hope to get it sold by September as that is when our tentative closing is on our new house in Gibson City.
Speaking of Gibson City, Jeremy and I think we may head that way today and grab some lunch and look around the town and try to get more familiar with it. We have been there several times, but hope to get more familiar with the town since we will be moving there soon. Plus, it will be a beautiful day today so why not get out and enjoy it!
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Hoping the house sells...

Jeremy and I have been busy thinking about our house selling and what we want in our new house in Gibson City. We have a couple that is very interested in our house. However, they are in the situation where they would like to get their house sold first or at least put on the market. Right now we still have the For Sale By Owner sign in the yard, however, we are going to be listing with a Realtor real soon if these people decide our house is not the best choice for them at this time. So we are praying and keeping our fingers crossed they will call us this week wanting to write a contract. We are anxious to start construction of our new home in Gibson City. If we start construction soon, we are looking at August/September move in, which is great because it seems like every time I have had to move, it has been in the cold weather. Hopefully a post in the near future says It is Sold!
We had a great Easter weekend with family. We enjoyed having an Easter egg hunt at our house and watching our little niece and nephew find eggs and color eggs.
We don't really have much plans for the weekend. Look forward to relaxing. Now that we know we will be moving in the near future, I am gathering things for a garage sale at my Grandma's house in St. Joe in June.

First Annual Illinois Marathon!

This weekend also brings the first annual Illinois Marathon to Champaign-Urbana. Thousands of runners will be on the streets this weekend! I know several people signed up for the marathon and I wish everyone luck in running the marathon. There will be a full, half and 5K. I hope the marathon is a success and will be back in Champaign-Urbana in years to come.

Happy Easter

I can't believe it is Easter already! This weekend we look forward to Darci, Kyle, Maggie, Hank & Angus as well as John and Jan coming to visit. We will be traveling to Vandalia Saturday to visit the Darnell that is in charge...that would be Lyla Darnell, Jeremy's Grandma. We will have lunch with her on Saturday and come back to our house Saturday to color eggs. My Mom and Steve will be coming over to color eggs with us as well. It brings out the kid in all of us. We will have an Easter egg hunt in our yard Sunday morning.
I also look forward to meeting up with old classmates from High School tomorrow night at a local establishment Seven Saints. I am looking forward to catching up! It will be like a mini high school reunion.
We have had a couple of people show interest in our house. Please pray for us for a smooth transaction as far as selling our house. We have decided we are going to build a house in Gibson City. We look forward to starting on our new house and the amount of extra space it will bring.
Have a wonderful Easter!
