Memorial Weekend!

We had a great long weekend. I took off Thursday and Friday last week and was able to get some things accomplished. Like I said in the previous post, I attended the 8th Grade Promotion at the Middle School on Thursday. Was able to have lunch with Jeremy afterwards and come home and get a few things cleaned before picking Adlee up at school. Friday I was able to get my hair done and my nails and toes done. I also did shopping for Adlee's 2nd Birthday party coming up in a couple of weeks. It is Elmo themed and is going to be pretty cute! We are keeping it very low key this year with just inviting Grandparents and Great-Grandparents and 5 of Adlee's friends. We were able to enjoy a few nice walks before the weather got too hot last week. Saturday morning we walked to the post office to mail out the party invites. That afternoon we headed to Pekin to attend a wedding/reception for one of Jeremy's buddies. We swam for a bit which was fun. Adlee was not sure about the pool at first because it was cold and then when it was time to get out she wanted to get back in. We met friends out for dinner Saturday night before heading over to the wedding/reception. The party was on a farm and they just had drinks, dancing and desserts. It was a nice change of pace from the average wedding reception. I only took one picture with my phone of us girls at the party. I didn't even take a camera.
We picked Adlee up a new pool Sunday on our way home at Target.  We were all able to get in the pool Sunday.  It was nice and refreshing.  We went to visit my Mom and Steve as they have done some work on their house and ate dinner at El Toro which is always yummy!  Adlee loves El Toro.
Monday Adlee and I did a few things around the house and played, Jeremy golfed with friends and then we grilled out yummy food with friends Monday evening.
Today is back to the grind of work, but looking forward to a short work week!

Adlee crashed on me Sunday after we got home.  I was not complaining...she has not done this since she was a baby!

Ready to go swimming in her new pool!

8th Grade Promotion

I was off of work Thursday and Friday so I was finally able to attend the 8th Grade Promotion at the Middle School. It was a very nice ceremony and it was really fun to see the kids and their reactions to "graduating" 8th grade. They also displayed some really cool artwork that the kids did as well. After Promotion, Mr. Darnell and I were able to go have lunch at the golf course. Mr. Darnell also pointed me out in the audience and made me raise my hand! And he had to embarrass me by saying that when he took the job, I told him that he could be the boss at the middle school but not the boss at home!! Fabulous!

Elmo & Big Bird at the Planetarium

We had a great weekend this past weekend! Friday, Adlee was ready to head back to school/daycare to visit with all her friends. I too was finally ready to get back in our normal routine. I hated her being out for 4 days and getting off track of our regular routine since we were just getting in the groove of going every day to the new daycare. Unfortunately Jeremy also got the Hand, Foot and Mouth this past week as well. This is Adlee Friday morning before leaving the house. She was sitting at the back door watching the golf course attendents take care of the grass.
Saturday, Jeremy decided to play in a golf outing with friends.  I had found out last minute about a showing at the Parkland College Planetarium of Big Bird and Elmo and the moon and stars.  Adlee loves all of the above and I thought she would enjoy it so we went.  I asked my Mom and Steve if they wanted to meet us to grab a bite to eat real quick and then head over.  We ate at one of Adlee's favorite places, El Toro and then went to the Planetarium.  She could not wait for Elmo to show up and kept asking where he was.
We had a great day Sunday of running errands and getting some chores done.  We met Adlee's Grandma and Pop Pop in Bloomington for lunch and did a little shopping.  I was very excited I found a couple of dresses at Ann Taylor Loft for weddings or wear to work that actually fit me well.  We came home and decided the 2 stink pots needed a bath so we gave  Dee and Lucie a bath.  They weren't so much happy with us but it was quite comical.  We also cleaned both of our vehicles.  Pretty productive.

This is how she likes to wear her glasses:)  She is funny!

This and That!

Adlee has had Hand Foot and Mouth this week. Poor little girl. She got this at her new daycare and it has been running rampit through the entire daycare. We have heard it is running rampit all over the place, including other states. She has been home all week. Jeremy stayed home with her Monday, I stayed home with her Tuesday, her Pop Pop stayed home with her yesterday and her Grandma Caffy (Cathy) stayed home with her today. We hope to take her back tomorrow. She has felt fine since Monday, we were just concerned with the blisters on her feet. The picture below does not do the blisters justice.
We played with Stickers on Tuesday when I stayed home with her.

Having some yummy yogurt!

Today she played in her swing with her Grandma!  Her Daddy also brought her a Happy Meal for lunch.  Yesterday she played with her Pop Pop in the Cozy Coupe and with side walk chalk!

Mother's Day!

Mother's Day was fantastic this year. I am all smiles on Mother's Day knowing that I am Adlee's Mommy! That girl literally melts my heart!
Jeremy and Adlee got me this beautiful ring for Mother's Day.  I got it last week.  But I woke up to a nice card and 2 chocolate chip muffins (1 for me and 1 for Adlee).  I had scratch off lottery tickets in my card and I won $10!
Friday, when I picked Adlee up from daycare/school...I had this cute little craft.  I was so excited to get something like this.  These little things will be things I can treasure forever!
Sunday we had plans to go to brunch and the zoo.  Brunch was awesome!  It was so nice and I got to have a mimosa as well.

Last weekend we had Generations pictures done with my Mom and my Grandma.  This one is a little sneak peek of one the photographer put on Facebook this weekend.  I love it!  And I love my baby girl so much!  Unfortunately she is a little under the weather.  She got Hand, Foot and Mouth from daycare so she is home today with her Dad and I will be home with her tomorrow.  But I was still able to have a great Mother's Day thanks to Jeremy and Adlee.

Transitions & Changes, and Time for Friends

We have had a lot going on at our house. The weather has been nicer so that means more time for side walk chalk and playing with neighbors. Also special treats of ice cream and stopping by friends houses to chat.

We decided to transition Adlee to a full service daycare/early childhood development facility last week.  We are very grateful for her first and only in home daycare provider but decided it was time to move her into something more structured with more activities and learning.  She is doing exceptionally well and seems to really enjoy it.  I was nervous about her taking naps and eating the food but she napped well the first day and has ate really well.  She comes home talking about certain friends she has met and their names and such.  The good thing is this facility is 20 minutes from GC so she gets to ride with me half of the trip to work.  We can chat and listen to music and sing songs.  Right now her favorite song is The Wheels on the Bus.

We did not intend to have 2 major changes in Adlee's world at the same time but it so happened that she was climbing out of her crib so we had to transition her to a Toddler bed.  I can't say that that transition is going as smoothly right now.  She has a hard time going to bed at night and also staying in her bed during the night.  I am hoping this phase does not last very long.  I know with both transitions it is asking a lot of her little self to deal with so we are hoping that a little patience and time she will do better in her big girl bed.

Teenie Ballereenie

Adlee had her final Teenie Ballereenie class this weekend. It was a lot of fun for her and I to be able to do this. They opened the last class up to Dad's and Grandparents and other family members to attend. My Mom came along as Jeremy was in a fishing tourney with his Dad. We went to lunch and to the mall afterwards to do our little Mother's Day celebration together. On Mother's Day I have plans with Jeremy and Adlee and spending the day together! I wanted to also get a picture of the moon last night as Adlee loves the moon!  I could not get a great picture but I did get one.

Adlee with her dance teacher Miss Jasmine!

Adlee loved Miss Jasmine the last couple of classes.  She kept going up to her and wanting to hold her hand while Miss Jasmine was showing the dance moves.

My Mom came along to watch Adlee.

Precious girl and me!  Was fun to do this together!
